After you are gone tears will be shed
old memories will play inside my head
after you are gone I'll see your face
and remember our very special place
after you are gone I'll probably pick up the phone
wondering if you are out or at home
after you are gone I'll search the room
and play some sentimental tune
after you are gone I'll visit with family and friends
and have long nights that would never seem to end

where as secretly I just want to die

that we're still lovers
when we're only friends

to move on and set each other free
after you are gone there's so much to do
to convince myself and others
